As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • All the co-authors of the manuscript, and not only the submitter or corresponding author have been registered with the journal site (https://journal.maranatha.edu/index.php/index/user/register).
  • The submitted manuscript has not been previously copyrighted or published in any form (including electronic media, databases, institutional repositories, and preprint platforms) and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • The submitted has been prepared as a single editable Microsoft Word file.
  • The length of the submitted manuscript is maximum 20 pages.

  • For citing and referencing, the authors have consistently used Cite Them Right 12 edition – Harvard.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 11 point font.
  • All illustrations, figures, and tables are clearly identified and placed as close to the discussion as possible.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

To expedite the review process, please format your manuscript as follows:

  1. Prepare your manuscript as a single editable Microsoft Word or Open Office document with line numbering, using the template downloadable from the web page of the Journal (Word format: JIS Template Version March 2024). The file should include the title page (with all authors’ full names, institutional affiliations, and the email address of a single corresponding author), the complete text, references, tables, and figures. All revised manuscripts should again be sent as a single editable document.
  2. Manuscripts must be written in good Indonesian or English and include a 100-250 word abstract. Harvard Style (Cite Them Right 12 edition – Harvard) should be used as a reference for manuscript preparation.
  3. The Bibliography or Reference list includes all and only sources cited in text, and provides complete reference information.
  4. Authors are asked to provide between 4 and 6 keywords immediately following the Abstract.
  5. Please ensure that all the characters and special characters in the text, tables, figure legends, footnotes and references are in a single typeface and point size – such as 11 pt Times New Roman. Once a manuscript is accepted, a copy editor will decide the typeface and size of the different elements of the article.
  6. All illustrations, figures, and tables are clearly identified and placed as close to the discussion as possible. Tables and equations should be in an editable rather than an image version. Tables must be edited either with Microsoft Word. Equations must be edited with the appropriate Equation Editor.
  7. Type your manuscript single-spaced.
  8. The length of the submitted manuscript is maximum 20 pages.

ONLINE SUBMISSION

Manuscripts should be submitted online via the Journal of Integrated System (JIS) online submission and review system at https://journal.maranatha.edu/index.php/jis/login

All the co-authors of a manuscript (not only the submitter or corresponding author) must be registered with the Journal site https://journal.maranatha.edu/index.php/jis/user/register?source= prior to or during the submission process. Failure to comply with this requirement may delay the initial assessment of their manuscript.

Manuscripts will be processed using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) software which allows authors to track the progress of their manuscript.

In OJS, editorial correspondence related to a manuscript is reserved for the person who actually submits the manuscript. In cases of various authors, the submitter is the sole co-author with access right to the manuscript and related files. It is therefore important that the corresponding author, referred to as “Principal contact for editorial correspondence” in OJS terminology, be the actual submitter of the manuscript in question. Otherwise, he/she will not be able to send and receive, through the platform, correspondence, modify the metadata of the manuscript and or upload additional files to the system.
